Real Salt Lake announced that Brondby transferred 19 year old homegrown goalkeeper Gavin Beavers to Danish club Brondby for an undisclosed fee. Gavin's contract ended at the end of the 2025 season. Normally contracts with one year left are transferred for less than a player with a longer contract. I am under the impression the sale was for more than a million and less than 3 million. This will help fill our GAM available from homegrown sales as 100% of homegrown sales are convertible to GAM up to 2,000,000$ GAM for the 2026 season. He will be replaced by committee as Rafael Cabral and Mason Stadjuhar have been signed. To read more about my thoughts on Gavin's transfer check the rumor linked below.
Gavin Beavers is the first homegrown sold by RSL to a European club for more than 1 million dollars. This is the first instance of Real Salt Lake living up to it's Develop -> Grow -> Sell model. This along with the sale of Andres Gomez last summer will be a great tool in convincing other young players to believe in our plans for them. I am also under the impression this is the only homegrown we have ever sold to a European club for a transfer fee.
Gavin Beavers occupied a Supplemental Roster slot and contributed zero dollars to the salary cap as a homegrown.
